The La Jolla Shores Hotel, located right on the beach, has a limited-time special offer until June 14 for IEEE IV 2010 attendees of $119/night, for any any night of Sunday through Wednesday nights (June 20-24).

La Jolla Shores Hotel
$119 special rate - please call Reservations at (866) 392.8762 and mention "UCSD IEEE Intelligent Vehicle Symposium". Book by June 14 to receive the group rate. There will be a shuttle bus available between the hotel and the symposium location.

Sheraton La Jolla
$119 special rate - please mention "IEEE IV 2010 Symposium" and book by May 21 to receive the group rate. Please book using the "Best Available Rate".

There are several other local hotels close to the university, which will have easy access to the conference location. Some of those include (with UC rates listed below):

Other local hotels include the Hilton San Diego - Torrey Pines (on the famous Torrey Pines golf course), Embassy Suites (near UTC mall), and Holiday Inn Express (near beautiful downtown La Jolla).


Transportation

To San Diego: The San Diego International Airport (SAN) is the closest airport to the conference location in La Jolla. It is also possible to fly into John Wayne-Orange County Airport (SNA) or Los Angeles International Airport (LAX); those are 1 to 2 hours away from La Jolla so it would be necessary to rent a car. From LAX it is also possible to take the Amtrak train to San Diego.

From the airport, shuttles will be available, or it is a $30-40 cab fare to the La Jolla area. Public transit is also available, and some hotels provide their own transportation.

Around La Jolla and San Diego there are many exciting attractions, including beaches, water-sports, hang-gliding, golfing, hiking, dining, shopping, museums, nightlife, a world famous zoo, and Sea World. More information can be found in the following links:
