Systems for Driver Affect, Intent, and View Estimation and Interfaces
Often times the driver of a vehicle can be
inattentive to the driving task resulting in dangerous driving
situations. This inattentiveness can be cause by a variety of
circumstances such as cell phone usage, drowsiness, or distractions
caused by other occupants. It is important to know when the driver
is distracted and the type of distraction in order to take proper
corrective action. This research thrust centers on analyzing the
driver pose, state, view, intent, and behavior in order to determine
when corrective action might need to be taken and what the correct
course of action might be.
