PARTIAL HUMAN BODY MODELING WITH VOXEL DATA
The robust modeling of the human body
has many uses, including motion capture, 3D model
estimation. This approach uses the voxel reconstruction
of the subject constructed using shape-from-silhouette.
From a calibrated set of cameras,
color images of the subject are segmented producing
silhouette images of the subject.
A voxel in space is considered
occupied when the projection of this voxel onto each
image lies on a silhouette pixel. The result is the
voxel reconstruction of the subject. This voxel data is
then used to fit a
partial body model consisting of head and torso.
